Animals that go outdoors should be checked multiple times per year to make sure that they are healthy. Use this kit to test if your pet has an intestinal parasite. Some intestinal parasites are zoonotic, which means that they can spread to people!
The results from a registered FetchDx® Fecal Mail-In Testing Kit from QSM Diagnostics® go directly to your veterinarian 1 business day after the sample arrives at the laboratory. If your pet has a parasite, the results of this test will allow your veterinarian to prescribe the correct treatment medications. The results are shared with the pet parent 72 hours after the veterinarian is notified.
A gold standard fecal test is run to detect ova and parasites using centrifugation and microscopic analysis. The presence of Giardia is detected with an ELISA test for the presence of antigens.
Included in each kit box are a pair of gloves, a tube with a scoop to collect the sample, an ice pack to keep the sample fresh during shipping, and a pre-paid UPS overnight return shipping label. This kit is valid for 36 months from the time of purchase. The QSM Diagnostics laboratory processes samples Monday-Saturday and most holidays.
